Rex was born and raised in Westminster, Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado at Denver where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BSBA in Finance and a minor in Economics (2003). Rex’s passion for teaching (his parents were both educators) led him to become an instructor at Denver University’s Graduate Tax Program where he taught in a continuing education program for licensed CPA’s and Attorneys from 2010-2013.
Rex holds the following licenses and designations: Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®), Series 7, 66, 24, Life Accident, and Health.
Rex’s areas of expertise are: retirement income planning, investment management, comprehensive financial planning, risk management, business planning, and international insurance.
Rex is married and has two daughters. Outside of his professional life he enjoys fly fishing, ice hockey, hiking and camping with is family. Rex’s love for the outdoors was fostered in the Boy Scouts. Rex obtained the rank of Eagle at the age of 15. He also believes in giving back to his community and has been an active participant or donor of Denver Active 20-30 children foundation for several years.
